What is S.T.A.R.S.?

Special education services provided to students at the elementary level who qualify for specially designed instruction in reading, writing, and math.

Students must meet eligibility qualifications for special education services.

Services focus on accelerated instruction aimed at closing the gap in the student's identified area of deficit.

Depending on the extent of the student's area of deficit, the student could receive services via S.T.A.R.S. 1 or S.T.A.R.S. 2 program.
